Everything you need to know to grow cut flowers at home – £55 per person
New for 2024, these workshops are perfect if you’re interested in growing cut flowers for your own use at home.
At the end of the session you’ll go away with a wealth of knowledge, pots of seeds to grow on and some ready germinated seedlings to grow on giving you a head start!
Over a morning at the flower field, we’ll cover;
- How to choose what to grow in the space you have
- Succession sowing
- Recommended varieties, including hardy annuals, half hardy annuals and perennials
- Practical experience of seed sowing and pricking out; you’ll take your seeds and seedlings home with you to grow on
- Guidance on raising your seeds successfully
- Top tips on cutting and conditioning your flowers
You don’t need any prior experience for this workshop as we’ll go through everything from the basics to the more advanced!
Workshop Dates for 2024 – All workshops £55 per person
Sunday 17th March – the focus will be on hardy annuals, but we will talk about other cut flowers such as half hardy flowers and perennials
Sunday 14th April – with a focus on half hardy annuals for the summer / autumn, but we will talk about other cut flowers such as dahlia
Friday 6th September – overwintering hardy annuals and bulbs and planning for the next year
